What Nummia does

One AI-driven pipeline, from raw collection to a clean, valued, searchable catalog — thousands of coins in days, not months.

🔎

AI identification & Numista match

AI vision recognizes each coin in seconds and matches it to the Numista catalog, auto-filling country, type, year, mint and reference numbers.

📷

Photography & archiving

Obverse and reverse of every coin are captured, named consistently and archived to your cloud — nothing gets lost.

💶

Valuation

An indicative market value is estimated per coin, so you know what the collection is worth — a helpful basis for insurance, sale or inheritance.

📊

Structured catalog

You receive a clean, exportable inventory (spreadsheet + images) with Numista references on every entry — ready to search, share or list for sale.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before requesting a free quote.

How does Nummia catalog a coin collection? +

Nummia uses an AI vision pipeline that identifies each coin, matches it to the Numista catalog, photographs both faces, estimates a market value and compiles everything into a structured, exportable catalog.

How much does it cost to catalog my collection? +

Pricing is volume-based and degressive: from 1.90 € per coin for small collections down to 0.60 € per coin for very large ones, with a 290 € minimum project fee. The quote is always free.

How long does cataloging take? +

Thousands of coins are cataloged in days rather than months, thanks to the AI-driven pipeline.

Can Nummia value coins for an inheritance or for insurance? +

Yes. Each coin receives an indicative market valuation with photos and a Numista reference, producing a documented, itemized report that is a helpful basis for estates, insurance or sale.

Is the valuation a certified, official appraisal? +

It is an indicative market estimate, computed from Numista catalog data and observed market prices — ideal to understand, insure or sell a collection. It is not a sworn, legally certified appraisal. If you need a certified valuation (for example for a contested estate or a court procedure), we can refer you to a partner expert or auctioneer.

How are my coins kept safe? +

Whenever possible, our at-home method means your coins never leave your house — you simply photograph them following our tutorials. If you do choose to entrust them to us, we provide an insured, tracked shipping protocol; every lot is inventoried on arrival and tracked piece by piece, and your photos and data stay strictly confidential.

Do I need to buy photo equipment? +

No. On the standard option we ship you a ready-to-use kit against a refundable deposit, returned when the equipment comes back. You follow our tutorials to take the photos yourself.

Can your team take the photos for me? +

Yes, on the Custom option: we dispatch a trained team that photographs the whole collection on location. This service is quoted separately and costs more than the self-service option; it is ideal for very large volumes, fragile pieces or tight deadlines.

Do I need to ship my coins? +

Not necessarily. You can either ship the coins or follow our guided video tutorials to photograph and archive them at home; both approaches work for very large volumes.

Is there a limit to how large a collection can be? +

No. Nummia is built for volume — beyond a certain size we switch to tailor-made pricing scoped to your collection and timeline.
